There are lots of rainbow lorikeets in my neghbourhood and sometimes they swing by to beg for fruit. I think their favourite flowers, berries and nuts must be running out because they have come by a couple of times in recent weeks. They fly down as we get out of the car, perching on the verandah, chirping and chattering at us as to let us know they'd love something to eat. Yesterday they came to the back door and twittered until we got them something. They prefer apple cores but, after some chatter amongst themselves, they seemed to enjoy the corella pear we offered.
