The bees have returned to the garden this week. All the wet weather we have been having must have quietened them down a little. Most of our camellias are in bloom and the other flowering plants will benefit from the attention too. I hope that the lavender I planted last year survives. The summer was very wet and they don't have any flowers on them. I am not confident that they will survive. They won't be my first failure in the garden but it will be the first time I have planted lavender and it hasn't made it. It is usually a reliable plant for me. Maybe the reappearance of the bees will help the lavender too but without any blossoms I don't know what they can do. They will have to work some of their pollination magic as they flit from yard to yard.
