We have our own little door nymph who watches over the garden. She keeps an eye on all the birds and bees and deadheads the geraniums that are planted by the steps. She is so efficient she often doesn't wait until they're dead. And who can blame her? The petals are so bright and velvety they are too hard to resist. Nymphs, I am learning, should do what they want in gardens that are theirs.
