I'd like to introduce you to Willa.
Yes, that's right, in the new barbie movie (aka cinematic detritus) there is a character named Willa. And, of course, there's plenty of Willa™ merchandise available to purchase as well. Suddenly the name I considered to carry strength, femininity, literary history and beauty carries a trademark and makes me think of the purple-maned atrocity above. The ™ is just soul-crushing because I know that when I look at my beautiful newborn girl I won't be able to get that Mattel '™' out of my mind.
What's a 40wk pregnant girl to do? I guess there's always a chance that it's a boy.

While they were there Mr Duyvken spotted this dervish dancers bowl and bought it for me, isn't it divine? The porcelain is light, the colour is vibrant and the dancers are amazing, each one has it's own pose and expression. It's sitting on the sideboard and I'm hoping it won't be knocked off and broken anytime soon. J has taken to kicking a ball up and down the hallway when we're trapped inside on wet days and it's only a matter of time before something bites the dust. I've lived long enough to know that the cheap crap you didn't like in the first place has a force field that will withstand wmd but anything expensive, cherished or just new is a magnet for destructive accidents. Let's hope my bowl makes it through it's first month unscathed. I won't breathe a sigh of relief until mid-May and then I figure it will be in the clear.
Mil's quilt is actually looking quilted, almost half quilted in fact - yay me! Mr Duyvken and I are going to stay up to watch Paris-Roubaix tonight so there should be a lot more completed by tomorrow. I am not expecting to have it finished and bound by baby's arrival but I will be a lot closer than I had anticipated. There have been a few gentle nudges from my mother that she would also like a table runner so the kids and I picked up some teapot fabric with her in mind when we were at Lincraft a few weeks ago and she's next on the list. One day I WILL make a quilt that is just for me :-)
Current top names for those still keeping tabs are:
GIRL - Willa Juliet or Juliet Willa
BOY - Max Robert

Anyway, why do I need the matzoh? Because I need to make these and I need to eat them, right now! This is not a good blog for a sweet-addicted, pregnant woman to be reading late on Saturday night.

Current top names:
girl - Willa Juliet (how's that for compromise?)
boy - Max, Miles, Nate, Daniel
I am so sure it's a girl I find it very hard to turn my attention to boy's names so I think that will end up being Mr Duyvken's decision if we end up with a boy. J is so sure it is a boy and he wants to call him 'brother' which could be interesting :-)
I'm so tired that I've done zero quilting, not only is mil's table runner not going to be completed before the baby arrives but I also doubt that I'll get around to making a stroller quilt for this little darling. Such a slack mama!!
